Heroes' Vow: Three Kingdoms

Heroes' Vow: Three Kingdoms

DE EN

"Live your own Three Kingdoms epic. Endure its clumsy wars."

About

Heroes' Vow is a sandbox RPG set during the Three Kingdoms period of ancient China. Players can live as a ruler, a courtier serving a lord, or even a recluse far from the conflict. Day-to-day life involves managing relationships, starting a family, developing personal skills, and overseeing estates. Depending on your path, you might also govern cities, train armies for war, and engage in battles to conquer rival factions, either following history or rewriting it.

Verdict

Heroes' Vow is a messy, ambitious, and often brilliant Three Kingdoms sandbox. It succeeds where it matters most, offering a level of freedom and role-playing depth that fans of Koei's classic officer sims have craved. The ability to forge your own path is genuinely compelling. However, this grand vision is held back by significant baggage. The large-scale battles are a clumsy mess, the UI fights you constantly, and a swarm of bugs can halt a promising run. It's a game you recommend with a list of warnings, but for the right player, the core fantasy is strong enough to make them worthwhile.
